Frequently Asked Questions:

When is the lake open to come fish?

Large Mouth Bass: Year Round, but best is April - September.
Trout: Open first week of October through the end of June. Call for winter fishing conditions mid December to Feb 1 (the lake never freezes up completely)

How far is the ranch from Klamath Falls?

37 miles and Mike always meets at a convenient place for you and takes new fishermen out to the lake and sets them up!

Can you fly into Klamath Falls?

Yes the Klamath Falls Airport has direct and daily flights from San Francisco, CA and Portland, OR.

What are the cabins like?

We have two available, that sleep 3 - 4, stocked with small refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot and electric heater. We also have outdoor barbecues! Bring your own sleeping bags and pillows. We have 5 gallon drinking water jugs, as there is no running water in the cabins...but there is an outdoor latrine.

Do you have camping spots for tents?

Yes we do, and that is what most of the bass fishermen do!

Can we bring our own boat?

Yes, we have a good gravel boat ramp, electric motors are allowed. We also have two boats for rental. You can bring your own float tubes of course.

What if I just want to fish all day and not spend the night?

That is fine! The price is still the same...the cabins are thrown in for our trout fishermens' convenience.

What if I want to trout fish for only half the day?

Also fine, if you just want to hit the morning or afternoon bite....the price for a half day trout fishing is $100.

What lines should I use?

Intermediate sink tip type ll. We highly recommend 8 lb. fluorocarbon 2x or 3x tippet---anything smaller and you will lose your flies!

What flies are best for trout?

Definitely nymph patterns like Teeny nymphs, Prince nymphs, Copper Johns, woolly buggers, seal buggers or any of Denny Rickard's Lake Fly Assortment.

How about flies for the large mouth bass?

Large poppers, large baitfish and leach patterns and definitely mouse and frog patterns.
